http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID It's Redundant Array of Independent Disks, it used to be Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks. The R stands for redundant, not random. Because Farrell is a poor excuse for a journalist, that's why. He apparently has never heard of fact checking. It's not RAID O (as in the letter), it's RAID 0 (as in zero). Anyone who rights for an enthusiast hardware site should know as much. At least I don't post three times back to back and make myself look like an idiot in all three of them.

You apparently need to learn what the R stands for. Redundant. "RAID" 0 isn't redundant. It's simply an array of discs. Hence, "misnomer". This is a technology site, people are supposed to know these things. RAID 0 (not RAID O) is really not required these days with SSDs. You already have a super fast drive for your OS and programs, why would you stripe your storage drives together? The only thing you're really accomplishing is doubling the chances of data lose. It's a stupid idea.

I think this is more interesting in respect of what its saying about forthcoming Intel processors. If they are building these using the X79/lga2011 platform then they are probably not going to be making them with the current K and X processors at £500 and £1000 approx respectively. I think they must be expecting/aware of other processors in the same vane as the native quad core 3820 and perhaps native 6 core cpu's in the pipeline. Which would be rather interesting.

Is Lenovo out of there mind lol... Of couse PC gaming is alive and kicking. Just look at the retail sales along with the massive PC gaming sales via Steam. Anyhow RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and so on is RAID. RAID is anything which unites 2 drives or more together. The poster above needs a head exam.
