Well from my point a view a tablet is something that does a little bit of everything. It's ok for most things but not really too good for anything besides memos and surfing the internet.Although some people do have some good uses for tablets, like nursing and event coordinating and almost anything where u are on the move. But the truth and the matter is the vast majority of people who use it, just do it for the flash and wouldn't even miss their tablet too much if it was stolen.

Hope you weren't referring to my original post because your opinion is flawed logic. Here's why, you plan on carrying a dump load of devises to do many things one device could potentially do? Lol, right. I’ll stick to a device (Playbook, Toshiba’s Tablet etc.) that I can use to read books, play games, watch 1080p HDTV, check my e-mail, listen to music etc.....

Lets keep the reality check going... you think developing and mass producing this kind of product (and hosting the ebooks on massive server farms, providing world wide access..ect.) doesn't hurt any trees or the environment at all?

You're just yet another benchmark addict. Everybody is about more, more, and more, these days. To read books, you need a screen, and two buttons - forward/backward, nothing else...

Let's do a little reality check, shall we? What do you need a tablet for? To watch films?? You have a TV for that, don't you? Listening to music? You have a few dozen gadgets to listen to music on, don't you? Do you have a gadget to just read books on??? No. You don't like to read books. It's stupid, right? Well, idiot, reading books is still the best way to learn something as far as I know. Kindle is actually something that the market weren't able to fulfil until now. I can only praise it. I really felt like there should be something I could read the books on, as I'm ecologically aware and don't encourage paper books, even though I love them. This way I could read a million of books and yet not harm one single tree. So go, kindle, go. I think it's the most useful gadget you can buy.

Amazon claims that Kindle is selling like hot cakes, but in reality it flat out sucks. Don’t people do their research anymore? First off it has very sluggish response at various times, it’s annoying. Navigating between the Apps most of the time is very frustrating and there is no "Home" button. The audio quality sucks, don't know what Speakers they are using but music and movies do not sound good at all. Yes sure it's cheap, and the only good thing about it is its low price and for reading e-books. Blackberry Playbook blows this Kindle apart in response time, performance, apps, better graphics, better battery life (10hrs+), has 1GB of memory vs. 512MB on Kindle, etc., Playbook is better for e-books, and now finally price. Playbook at $199 for 16GB, #250 for 32GB and so on.
