You're right. I don't use a windows phone. I use an el'cheapo Nokia with no touch screen. I only use prepaid, $30 should last me 2 or 3 months. The only smart phones i've actually used for a few hours at a time were galaxy s II and iphone 4. And I have to say I like the look of windows phone 7.5. But the specs of the phones just turn me off. Low res 480x800 screen, single core. Samsungs already got Galaxy S III in production, and it's going to be a quad-core with 720p screen res. And all the phones are getting bigger and bigger. Check out HTC Titan WP7.. 4.7inch but with 480x800 screen resolution? You can see the pixels.

DaRAGE, if the OS is optimized for multicore CPU, you're right. Google only create OS but not the IDE & runtime for your apps. I have a Tegra 2 device & own a WP7 device. When working on excel doc with office suite apps, the experience on Android(HoneyCo mb) is inferior. Most of the time only games & apps from Google provide good performance. BTW, I bet you don use a WP7 phone as your primary comm devices (an educated guess, no offense). Remember, MS & Apple spend more effort on development platform/IDE than Google to ensure apps're optimized, good experience doesn't come free.

How can an app that is written for a single core, perform better in a multi-threaded environment? What's the point in building an app for dual core when 100% of the users at the moment cant use it, and when dual core comes along, it will only be of benefit for the few that come from that time on, and not the other 99% of the current user base? Of course that decreases over time. But let me ask you... on a hardware basis, Nokia N9 or a Galaxy S II? Which is preferable and more powerful, with a better screen and better specs... Why the Galaxy S II looks and feels and responds way better... so what you going to buy, no matter the software... The one that looks and runs and feels better.

Have you written an app for Windows Phone? I mean, that statement is patently false, but oh well... I guess single core apps never worked well when dual-cores came out on PCs. Oh wait, they did and generally ran better.

Seriously microsoft has hampered Windows Phone buyers by decreasing the hardware specifications. If all apps have to be used for single core low res, when will they start seeing high-end programs, even if they now switch over to dual cores and high-end screens. Half the app user base will still need that program to work on one core with low display res. Therefore apps are crap and developers are stuck for a few years back when single core was out of style. Microsoft hurt the Phone companies, the App developers, and the customers all in one with their stupid decision.
