Intel seems to afraid to mention SamSung which is the power house in ARM designs and has a couple of "hot chips", one on sampling right now and real products releasing in a couple of months. Qualcomm is a way smaller company who did very well in the past couple of years but we shall see SamSung taking over a decisive lead from 2012 onwards just due to their designs and release dates on "post Tegra" chips. Intel cannot beat Samsung on mobile cpus unless they take up an ARM license. If X86 can go ultra-low power, they would have done it by now. Even with 3 generations of Atom, Intel is still rather far from the target. They should stop making gpu cores since they are slowing down the technology of the gpu market.

Considering top performing ARM phones sell for $550-$650 I really doubt cost is an issue for those customers. I doubt that Medfield phones are intended to compete with budget ARM phones.
