PC's are not very capable with onboard solutions from intel for example, but even if it can run smoothly, imagine someone encoding a movie that big(it will need enormous amount of processing power) P.S. I hope in 2012 to have at least a few movies worth paying, I prefer quality over quantity..

I think PCs are quite capable of driving such a display with 2-D data, eg a movie. That said, you are right about the movies - Hollywood rarely any more makes a movie worth paying to see.

Imagine what processing power is needed to just decode(watch) an uber-high resolution movie at 2880x1800. ..and I'm not refering to the GB of this video even with x264 codec, 50-80GB for just a movie? :P -> and this movie would probably suck as most of the movies in 2011 :D P.S. A cool feature will be to be able to devide the screen into two smaller ones 1440x900 (x2) so in one place to have like dual screen setup (but it needs an inteligent way of moving around)

As for the resolution bump, cool. Very few cases that can actually use the entire resolution mapping, but cool anyways. Sticking to 16:10 is by far the best news here. At least Apple isn't shorting the consumers on that front. I'd buy a MacBook Pro just for that reason, though I'd be using Windows on it. Sorry Apple, I like games and I'm a Microsoft Developer. Now, if someone else comes along shortly after with those pixels, in a 16:10 monitor, I'd hold out for that though, even if it is Apple's own display. Playing BF3 on that would be sweet :) Personally though, 3 x 1200P displays w/ thin bezels would be perfect for gaming at the moment :D

Apple realizes that people buying these thing will be doing actual work, not just watching movies. For this, 16:10 is a must. I have a 16:9 display on my mobile workstation at work, and let's just say I'm glad that I have it docked with two 16:10 monitors. Not only does a 16:9 aspect ratio rob you of vertical space, it takes up more horizontal desk (lap?) space. Apple knows what they are doing with hardware. Too bad morons watching movies on their laptops have ruined it for the rest of us.

Despite generally enjoying poking fun at the willing victims of Apple brainwashing, I must say that sticking with 16x10 is a good move. 16x9 steals ~ 10% of the pixels from the purchaser and is IMHO immoral act on the part of manufacturers. Still, I suspect Apple will try to sue any competitor who tries to move back to 16x10 from 16x9. There, I still found a way to dig at Apple. My day is complete ;-)
