Kinda disappointed..why does only the high-end get the new architecture? I'm a mid-range guy..thought 7670 or 7780 would be GCN based too...oh well hope they perform well...7670 or 7770 either one of them for me.

>"but we have no idea how Radeon HD 7000 series will stack up against the GK 100 generation, Geforce Kepler that is." And we will have to wait until 2013 when the high end Kepler comes to find out....oh and of course by that time the comparison will between kepler and the HD 8000 series.

Great point. It also depends on the price. I may just get another HD 6000 card for Crossfire or sell my current HD 6000 card and get a HD 7000 card, again depends on price and performance.

The GPUs (not the cards) are reportedly capable of ~40% better performance when compared against the 6000 lineup but there's been no mention of whether that will be tamped down due to power/heat issues. Regardless, this will be the 3rd gen since my 4850 and I'll be jumping on this come Spring benchies of 7850-7790.
