Unless Sharp is a lackey or a lapdog or a curmudgeon then I'd expect them to do what any self-respecting corporation would do and double-cross Apple within 1-2 product generations by releasing an identically functional device without the Apple component and Apple tax, so that they can cash-in. Another round of patent wars notwithstanding . Actually, I better look up 'curmudgeon' in the dictionary before committing to that statement.

I guess some one does not remember all that problems the iMAC's had, where the display flickered. or was yellow in some spots. All apple's going to do withe the iTV is take an apple TV and cram it in to a sharp TV. Iam also betting the design of this iTV will be just a large Apple display.

If, once Apple brings this forth, everyone will forget about all those who had the idea first. Why? Because Apple isn't the first to something, it's the first to do it right. I'm not sure what they're doing here, or even if they're doing it. But I can tell you one thing, it'll probably be an awesome television. Apple always uses really high quality LCD panels in everything they make. The iPhone and iPad have the best mobile LCDs out there, the Cinema Display is about the only LED backlit LCD monitor you can buy. Definitely the only one at it's price. Their laptops have LCDs which are better than any other laptop I can think of.

. They are already at war... anyway it is Apple's loss.... SamSung is still the best panel maker and the best mass production capability for them.

What we will see is a TV with a media center/HTPC, possibly built into one device. Nothing new, yet Apple will take all the credit for "having invented something new".
