Actually about month after Rory Read stepped into his job at AMD Rick Bergman was fired. Rick Bergman was the guy responsible for the AMD / Global Foundries relationship. I think that demonstrates that Rory Read at least understands the importance of Global Foundries significantly improving their process. It probably also means Rory acknowledges that Rick's effectiveness in this area was unacceptably poor.

Yay go Rory...what can a CEO do at best? Motivate employees & restore faith in shareholders. A CEO is basically no more than a coach. It's the players who make the difference i.e AMD engineers...they release a platform which performs inferior to its previous generation. Intel had a piece of shit in Netburst P4...but at least it performed close enough to AMD & better than P3. AMD is in such a big mess from the CPU side...Global Foundries problems have made it worst they can't mass produce the only good product i.e Llano they have! They either should shift focus on ARM or ditch Global Foundries & give all orders to TSMC. I see this guy running AMD's CPU division into the ground at this rate.
