It's been broken for a while now. If Apple can patent the term "multi-touch" or Interactive Gaming on smart phones? What a joke of a system, just like our health care system.

What if Apple doesn't want to license their... patents, whatever lie that might mean in their case, and are just pretending to do. Or Microsoft? And it's not "poor google"... Tim Porter has a point, the patent system is in place to prevent misuse of ideas, misuse based on reverse engineering or industrial espionage. That said, how the heck did that office grant protection to even the simplest things, which can be thought up by multiple people without the two scenarios mentioned above, by simple coincidence. How does that translate to patent infringement? It doesn't. Reminds me of the apple airbags pattent for phones, pathetic and simple... who should sue them?

Poor Google. License the patents you need to license for Android and get on with business just like every other mobile phone company.
