Most of the cost is usually attributed to the screen and battery (excluding storage) The Note should in theory be more expensive, yet it actually cheaper? or is it? UK Prices have the Galaxy Nexus being cheaper than the Galaxy Note Galaxy S2 £404.99 (Handtec) £449.95 (Mobile Fun) Galaxy Nexus (16GB) £509.99 (Handtec) £539.95 (Mobile Fun) Galaxy Note (16GB) £574.99 (Handtec) £599.95 (Mobile Fun)

I do know that I'm comparing apples and oranges here, but for this money one can buy an entire fairly decent desktop PC including monitor. I think the EU should investigate the cell phone makers for price fixing and/or collusion. The BOMs and software development costs do not justify the prices.

Well, not necessarily... Most high end Androids this year launched at €499, some even less. Of course, prices dropped a few weeks later, but the initial list price was €499 for just about any high-end phone. Also, this is the 16GB version, so the 32GB model will probably be a bit more expensive, say 30-40 euro. It's still cheaper than the iPhone, but pretty pricey nonetheless...

It'll drop in price as soon as there's general availability. Those prices are pretty much what every high-end handset is listed at before availability.
