FAIL ... to say so in your own language! GF will start volume production of 22nm SHP parts in 2013, while test runs will be done at the end of 2012, parts might be available at shops at the end of 2013 if all goes well. FAIL terry, FAIL!

For AMD, 2013 brings 28nm, not 22nm. Only in 2014 do they get 20/22nm. And... first review of BD went up early from a dutch site, still in google cache... and it is: A GIANT PILE OF FAIL. Loses low-threaded tasks to an i5 2500! Loses multi-threaded tasks to the i7 2600! Even manages to lose some games to... wait for it... the i7 965!!! Yep, that old thing. Meaning: loses ALL games to an i5/i7. What a turd.

[quote name="nt300"]Just got some inside information in regards to AMD's FX line of Bulldozer CPU's. AMD has a little secret and it has to do with how the new CPU's communicates with graphics when in game within a real world scenario. It also has to do with turning off un-needed cores while jacking up the clocks for those cores which are being used. sound good, but don't u think if that was true AMD would let us knew already at least 2months before actual release? What is AMD doing in order to keep customers waiting and not buying what Intel offers. Nothing,ZERO...worst marketingEver

Well, that's the TurboCore principle, detect a foreground low-thread-count application, lower clocks on unused cores or turn them off and jack up the used cores, but this is only possible up to a certain point. Now, if SOI does its job, leakages should remain low so the cores can achieve some really high clocks depending on the voltage. If all goes well AMD might do good for gamers at the fraction of the price intel would. Heck, even HTPC crowd would love it if thermals can be controlled this way.

Hmph! let me be more clear: put the beef on the counter where I can buy it. [edit] That said, I am glad to learn it is in final stepping. I am supposed to build a small test cluster (30 or 40 cores). Phenom x6 makes a lot of sense, but is dead end, I've been waiting with slowly mounting impatience for BD.
