At 1st, I'm abt to express astonishment over 'virtual marriage' stuff that normal person'd just treat this as fun & not serious abt it. But after reading all the comments from U guys, I take back my words. For me, a marriage ceremony doesn't warrant longevity of relationship but it shows how serious are you in the relationship. It consumes money & time & involves a lot of ppl. Thus if U're not serious, U won going to hold a marriage ceremony, save the part U love your partner or not.

What the hell are you talking about "atheists can't have marriage"? I don't know about places you live in, but here, if you don't go through certain lessons, you can't even get married in church, but that doesn't mean you can't get a civil marriage. I consider rings to be a symbol of love bond, which you interpret as "religion-only" symbol. Believing couples have not only rings as their symbols, but also day they met, and other stuff, only related to those persons. So if they believe in something I don't, that makes those symbols "believers only"? I can't use them? BS, and you know it.

I think thematrix is right on. I often wonder why atheists bother getting married also. Marriage has always has had roots in religious ceremonies.

Your troll logic is sound, if I disagree, that means I have no GF or am young! Now, go look in wiki under the big section named MARRIAGE AND RELIGION. Come back to me on that. But do tell me trollolol, what is the imporance of marriage? A document? Rings? Tax deduction? Tell me how marriage makes your love grow stronger... or does it empty your pocket on that big day?

People still get 'married'? Just have a party, and announce you are together. Marriage is so old fashioned, and has huge religious implications... It's funny to see all of the 'atheists' out there still getting married. (sure it might be in churches all the time, but still, the ring on your finger is enough said) *Puts on anti flame hat for religious discussions*
