I think this article is about microprocessors . You are talking about the whole(cpu+gpu). If so, you are right. And this article is true too. :)

A typical doom & gloom AMD newsblurp that goes on for years and years, the reality is that AMD is a much leaner and fast moving company that it ever was before and will stick around for another 10 years, for the joy of mr.Farrell.

SlickR, intel has several developing teams, with some of them failing miserably while eating tons of cash... dirty cash, mostly. Others do great, we have SB as proof. This is all AMD can do right now with the money they have and the resources available. I'm surprised you haven't jumped on VIA's back for not even being able to put out any kind of product on the market. Also, the GPU is nothing more than an advanced FPU that all CPU's have, but instead of understanding x86, it understands DX, OpenGL and OpenCL. I'm expecting that in the future, AMD will completely move FPU operations on the GPU side of the APU, transparently. In this regard, intel won't compete. I'm looking forward to see you criticize them as well when the time comes.

Well AMD needs to be more competitive in the performance segment. Since the performance segment is soo cheap now around 150 euros its the biggest market. So instead of putting gpu's on the cpu's and making CPU's good at GPU things, AMD should focus on the CPU side of things and improve performance in archiving, multimedia, editing and so on...

For gaming the A8 did good enough, even against the 2500k, in AVP there was hardly any difference coupled with a 6990... I for one don't see the upper Sandy's a good gaming investment unless someone's really twitchy about the few extra fps the more expensive CPU has to offer. Yes, intel kicks ass, just make sure it kicks the right one or else you've thrown money out the window.

I'm gaming on a Sempron 140 (cheapest AM3 CPU) unlocked to an Athlon II x2 4400e, plays Crysis 2 and all of my other games at smooth framerates, only cost £24 aswell, definitely an awesome chip until Bulldozer arrives

It's a shame. I built a lot of PCs for family/friends etc, and those that just want a cheep Internet/Office/Music/Video PC, AMD are so much cheaper. For any "good" PC, Intel kicks assss, but at the low end, AMD is so much more affordable

It was to be expected, AMD had old products, intel already brought out the 2nd generation of iSomething's and rumored the 3rd. We are still waiting for BD, but glad Llano came out, which will give AMD a better sale figures. SI will be on time, or early if TSMC does 28nm right, other than that, that's business.
