I have never had a "problem phone". My wife had a Blackberry Tour that got the "White screen of death" all the time and had to get the OS reloaded every time it happened. When the Droid X came out, we both got one and haven't had any problems with them.

without more info you can make these numbers say anything. for example: "fewer software related issues with android." equally possible with exactly the same numbers. maybe android got a lot fewer support calls. which would mean their hardware is actually more reliable. maybe blackberry users got LOADs of issues with software, so they make a lot more calls about it meaning their percentage of calls about hardware goes down, but only because a lot more people called per sold unit. maybe its the complete opposite, who knows. without information like how many calls per sold unit this information is useless and really doesn't tell us a thing.

so, aparently, you need to call helpdesk to fix your hands. As crushing and droping your phone all the time is so retarded.

It should. Somehow, apple manages to wrap sh!t into a pretty glittering package and say it is "mature technology" when in fact they do it to save manufacturing costs and increase profit. Simple comparison: - old iphone 3gs gorilla glass = history after second drop on hardwood floor. - old Moto Droid (also gorilla glass) = still alive after countless drops, one off the roof of my car (i forgot it up there :D )

. Left hand antenna problem is not a hardware problem, it is design problem. Since they won't RMA your phone because you complain about bad signal I am sure this is not considered as "hardware fault" by the study. Same for the broken glass too. Those who mind antenna problem don't buy iPhone in the first place.

As a percentage, this is a meaningless statistic. A higher percentage of tech support calls being related to hardware faults could equally mean that there are fewer software faults. That said, my Sony X10 will never have fully working multitouch because it was released with a hardware design fault. Just stick to HTC or Samsung and you'll probably be fine. I find it hard to believe that the iPhone hardware faults are low though because the glass (front and unnecessary back glass) shatters as soon as you drop it from a couple of feet, etc. Almost every iPhone I've ever seen has had broken glass. Then there's the left handed antenna problems, etc too.
