I like how you fail to mention that XDA users have been overclocking for years. The Samsung Galaxy S variants can get in the 1.6 - 1.8ghz region. My captivate is currently @ 1.44ghz @ 1.325v. To all those saying 'Battery life' Keep in mind that although you may overclock, any smart person knows that the CPU does not sit at the max clock forever, it typically switches between 6 - 8 states, and in overclocking, you can add more states, and undervolt them as well, creating amazing battery life. Think about it, how long does your phone do intensive tasks, where it needs to scale up to 1.4ghz? I get *WAY* better battery life with the full scale going up to 1.4, then I do bone stock.

More like undervolting but I guess the batterylife win woudlnt be significant enough just like the extra power from OC isnt. Overall I feel like the current gen phones are pretty close to the limit of "needed speed" Games always need more power ofc but that only makes sense on phones with hardware keyboard.

Well, i am not really sure. While i can agree that people will try to overclock their phones, but i think there is simply not enough room. We may get a slight boost but not very significant enough to consider. And we might end up with a broken piece. Until mobile processors with large overclocking room are introduced, i think it's useless.
