SSD are created to avoid raid ..so if you put a RAID 5 as you say you need XXXX multiple x4 ..not very convinient(tons of money compared to 15k server HDD's) BTW TRIM is not supported on raid, so over time the SSD would perform like crap even on RAID5 and in servers you don't do a format often so imagine after a week or so the ssd's writing/reading tons of data.. performance? 100MB/s read/write haahahahah

Consumer SSD's already use something like RAID5. Enterprise SSD's go 10 times further. I think you don't have to worry about defragging/destroying your enterprise SSD.

Try doing 100 defrags to an MLC nand drive or eMLC or whetever MLC nand you want and come back to tell me the result, why doing defrag? ..to have better recovery if it needed to (No one can deny that defragmenting an SSD is VITAL if the recovery is a MUST)

What are you talking about. No magnetic disk comes even close to the lifespan of this drive. The Sandforce controller offers wear leveling which extends the life of eMLC NAND significantly and many other security features not found in any other disk.

eMLC - enterprize grade Multi-Level Cell.. why? instead try to reduce the SLC price and you've got same result with higher speed and much higher reliability P.S. Just my opinion
