It is odd that the quad has the same TDP.... Wonder why that is.? Maybe they turned off 2 of the cores like they did with the k10 x2s.. If I recall correctly it didnt effect the TDP drastically...

It has the same TDP as a quad core APU with a more powerful GPU. That's not an excuse, since the quads prove that can do better. It's a very low-binned chip. That's the only explanation, unless it's unlocked.

Its a dual core with a gpu, all in one package.... are you counting for the juice the gpu takes as well... or are you comparing this TDP to a dual core with out a gpu? I think the 45w TDP for a dual core chip and a pretty powerful gpu all in one is great and what I would expect from first gen. stuff like this..

45W dual-core? WTF? I'd avoid that like the plague. Sounds like a horribly binned chip compared to the others. Other than that and maybe the naming, this looks pretty good.

I agree that AMD's naming scheme hasn't improved. They probably want customers to just look at the Ax part to see which would be good enough (like Intel's ix). As for the 3, I really hope it isn't because Intel's stuff starts with 2. In that case, AMD should really start to think for themselves regarding this! The Intel naming scheme sucks too, no use copying that. What you can see from the naming scheme is that the second digit appears to show how fast the GPU part is. (35xx = 400 shaders, 34xx = 320 shaders, 33xx = 240 shaders)

Intel and AMD got tired of price wars, so now they fight to come up with the "stupidest" naming. Intel was winning, but now I think there's a tie.

:o Am i the only one who thinks the names are getting a little confusing? why do all the chips start with 3 anyway? I liked how the last two digits of the thuban's told you how high the turbo was,(xx00=400mhz, xx50=500mhz) the new ones don't seem to do that anymore  . The only thing i like about the new names are the X denoting a 45w chip.
