I play CS Source and Portal 2 at 5760x1080 with 8xAA 16xAF and get over 100 FPS with my Phenom II. In any game where where I hit a hardware limitation, it is only my video card that is bottlenecking me, and only on DX11 titles do I even see that limitation. I'll put any extra dollar towards GPU instead of CPU any day of the week.

@child gamer -Spoken like a true non-gamer. Sandy Bridge is fantastic! non-gamer, thats funny. far cry 2, a cpu intensive game, shows the contrary. better hope you dont go cheap with AMD and wind up getting horrible frames for the small price cut and your new favorite game turns out to need a better cpu especially if you plan on keeping your rig for a while, what is 60+ fps now might be 20-30 in a couple of years, and the extra fps with intel just might come in handy. i game at 1080, i know how this works..lower res bigger difference..just proving a point with that fc2 slide, chill.

Oh I wasn't trying to argue, I was just a little confused on how it was implemented. I'm all for any improvement to the way Bios is done, it hasn't changed much in a while. Actually, I just built a Zacate system, and the bios on that board seemed a bit different, though I don't know if that was AMD's doing, or Asus's. It had a nice interface and supported mouse control.

Coreboot is a "BIOS replacement", my quotes. So it is what it is. Let us argue instead about whether, say, an AMI BIOS is better than it's competitors.

So is it still something located on the mobo, or is it located on the CPU? Cuz I would think it would still need to be on the Mobo to be a good platform for overclocking.
