It'll be announced next year, but probably not released. Plus, EA debunked that rumor. You might think that they were lying, but companies usually just say "we don't comment on rumors and speculation." A flat-out "no" usually means no. Part of that rumor states that it'll be announced at E3, but it also says that EA, who would normally be the first ti get a kit, only got theirs a month ago, and it was a super-early kit. Obviously fake. If such early kits are going out now and it's going to be launched next year, it means that they're rushing it again. They rushed the 360 like that, and what happened? Red rings, thousands of them. Do you really think that they would go through that again?

That was debunked a long time ago. It doesn't even make sense for them to launch a new console next year, given that the Kinect has really boosted sales. Also, dev kits would have to be out to all major publishers right now for that to work, and having kits out for that long with no announcement is just asking for leaks. It's mostly PC gamers that want an upgrade, not console gamers, and besides that you'd need two next-gen consoles out before PC games start getting that boost in graphics, and since it looks like Nintendo is going for a lousy R740, we won't have two for a while either way.

@TechHog Yeah I totally agree with your comments on PC development, it isn't like it used to be, with PC no longer pushing the limits. It is a shame developers are focused on getting maximum return for there games which is fair enough. If they did develop a proper next gen game for PC there would be a market for it, just not as big as the market for consoles. The best we can probably get now is the best version of multi format games. If you look at it another way though, for those who don't like to upgrade there PC's often its great becausce you buy a graphcs card and can be sure to run any game for a few years. Its just the enthusiasts that suffer :/ ...

@Boomstick777: The problem is that developers and publishers want to run a business and to make money. Console development is already very expensive for them. Making a PC exclusive that pushes graphics to the limit would, frankly, be a horrible business decision because earning back all of the money spent would be impossible. It would take a developer and publisher totally committed, above all else, to pushing PCs to their limits. Sadly, such a developer would go bankrupt in no time. Unfortunately, times have changed, and PC gamers can only dream of the golden days. I know I'm going to get thumbs-down, but it's the truth. Also, you're dreaming if you think Xbox 3 is coming out next year. There would have been leaks pointing to an E3 announcement by now.

I do agree the PC needs games that take advantage of its hardware, I have HD 6990 and nothing tests it yet.. But id rather they focused on PC only games, with better graphics, deeper gameplay than the consoles. If they release another console and all the PC gets is the console multi format games, what will be the point in owning a gaming PC? Developers need to widen the gap between PC and consoles again. Bring on some decent PC exclusives!

There not 'ports' these games are designed on the PC and then ported to consoles via dev kits. I like the multi format games, Crysis 2, Dead Rising 2 etc. There are loads of games on PC right now, how many do you need? Witcher 2, Fable 3 are released in next couple weeks.. Most people can't even run Crysis 1 or 2 yet.. If a new console did come out now, PC gamers would no doubt moan that they can't run the games without an upgrade, seems PC gamers are never happy. Best setup is a good PC and Xbox 360 combo for the exclusives, Gears Of War, Red Dead Redemption, L.A Noire etc. Best of both worlds... New Xbox in 2012 not long to wait ;-)
