Not that this is a revelation, but this article is clearly biased towards nvidia. A 3-GPU solution for under $1000 from AMD comes very close to (and sometimes beats) a 4-GPU nvidia solution for $1400. While the conclusion is positive (mildly), the author goes out of his way to avoid pointing out how embarrassingly poor (for the money) the performance of Quad SLI is.

I'd love to see some multi-screen benchmarks with these new cards. It's pretty obvious with these new cards supporting 2-3 GB of memory and up to 6 displays on a single card that they are designed for multi-screen environments. Try a 3x1 setup with resolution of 5760x1080. That would be a good test of this level of hardware.

It gets worse than this for the 590s if you actually review resolutions that 1000-1500 dollars of GPU would be using ie 5760X1200. Hardocp did a real comparison with a $1,000 price tag to create an even playing field and used real resolutions for that cost. WHO in their right minds buys quad 590s or 6990s to game at 1920X1080 or 2500X1600? Obviously at the higher resolutions it gets worse for Nvidia. The real comparison should be 6990+6970 versus 580SLI as Hardocp does.
