OMG Monopoly on the making... WD and Hitachi are the remaining but WD is a contender to fight back. Samsung HDD is good for a cheat price. I don't like seagate HDD, I have so many overheating problems with them. WD and Samsung no problems at all.

Nooo!! :( Samsung Spinpoint hard drives were by far the best drives out there in my opinion. Extremely fast, quiet and reliable drives. I have 8 x 1TB Spinpoint F1's and 2 x 2TB Spinpoint F3's. Not had a single failure yet, which I certainly can't say for the shoddy drives from Seagate. I've seen many Seagate drive failures and DOA's due to serious overheating etc in the past. The less said about Hitachi(Ex-IBM) drives the better. Guess it's Western Digital from now on for me. Had a couple of failures with RE2 drives but my old 10000RPM raptors are still going strong :)

On a serious note, how is Samsung worth so much less than Hitachi? I have never bought a Hitachi HDD because they don't make anything worth buying and yet i have bought so many Samsung drive (partly because they seem to fail so often) but mainly because they are fast and cheap. I am very surprised Hitachi is deemed to be a much stronger player in the HDD market than Samsung.
