@Orumus My point was that you won't really see much of a benefit from a higher resolution than on the iPhone4, SuperOLED+ has slow gone as fair as its going to do i think. You might get 3D versions of the the screen but they nothing earth shattering. What i meant by CPU speeds plateaued is that i don't why we are going to need anything faster than say 2GHz dual core, if anything i think dual 1GHz with a well optimised OS is all you really need. Anything more than that will never get properly used and will just drain the battery. Tell me, if you had desk top power in your smartphone would you use your phone any different to how you do now?

Um....things like processor and screen vastly affect battery life so you should care. ... And you think that screen and ARM cpu tech have plateaued? I think you need to read more lol.

They'll probably start introducing sub versions soon. Like 5.1, 5.2 etc. so that all the people who have too much money on their hands can spend 500$ for a new iPhone every month so they could brag about it to their neighbours and think that spending money on rubbish makes them happy. It just makes you a consumer drone. A prisoner of consumer society. It's planned obsolescence, extreme case. 90% of the people is brain-dead. It might be due to using mobile phone too much. ;) Do you think I care about all of this by posting this? No. Not at all. Go for it. It's normal. I seem to be an idiot for being different than those 90%, actually, and using my mobile only when it really comes handy like when I'm "on the road". At home, I use a fixed phone. Yeah, you remember those? :)

Release or not, Apple will go down again just like in 97. This is how quickly Apple grew, and Google as well: http://www.web2society.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/MarketShareSmartPhones_AppleInsider_Canalys_Q3_2009.jpg And this is how it will slowly start dieing as people realize it's so closed it's no fun to use: http://waxop.com/wp-content/uploads/idc-claims-windows-phone-will-overtake-ios-market-share-come-2015.png There IS a reason why people use Google phones and a VERY big reason why people will use win7 phones: http://www.wareground.com/images/400/windows_7_finally_overtakes_windows_xps_desktop_os_market_share.jpg It's all in the numbers people, quick Google searches + some logic + some reasoning skills = answers.

The most important thing for me now is not the processor speed or screen size/resolution, or how thin the phone is made as things like that have all plateaued more or less. What would make a much bigger difference to me is a vast improvement in signal strength and quality plus a longer battery life. I would like to see a proper camera sensor in a phone too with a decent lens. It doesn't have to be a zoom lens but just a high quality 25mm prime with a 1/1.7" sensor. So you can truly throw away your compact camera and just use your phone.

I really hope its not just the same A5 processor as the one in the current iPad. I would like to think that the delay is because Apple wanted to put 28nm CPUs and GPUs into the iPhone 5 so that they could vastly increase the computing power whilst reducing the actual power consumption.
