If you are wet at the thought of a smartphone with probably a 4.3" screen just think about a tablet using 2GHz with a full 10 inches, in black of course!

The most important thing for me now is not the processor speed or screen size/resolution, or how thin the phone is as things like that have all plateaued more or less for me. What would make a much bigger difference to me is a vast improvement in signal strength and quality and battery life. I would like to see a proper camera sensor in a phone too with a decent lens. It doesn't have to be a zoom lens but just a high quality 25mm prime with a 1/1.7" sensor. So you can truly throw away your compact camera and just use your phone.

I think this is the right way to go: there's no way a smartphone needs a quad-core: even a lot of PC-applications can't make use of 4 cores. But as with PC's, the software developers need to catch up: If they do, I believe that smartphones can offer graphics up to what current consoles can within the next couple of years.
