Bullshit. intel just wants to milk us for more cash, bringing out this new socket for no reason other than to sell more core logic. Oh, wait. It's AMD, all is well. When is AMD going to (finally) birth this thing? I want one for an HTPC build. I was looking at a Zacate system, but I don't think the CPU component has enough balls on it to do 1080p playback in VLC or MPC, my video players of choice. So I want one of these, even though they will be dirt cheap.

Something strange here, as the amount of holes on the new socket does not match the sample chips pins. New Socket: 31x31=961 Corners and 2 pins=3+3+3+4+2+2+2+2=21 Center Square=5x7=35 961-21-35=905 However, the bottom of the chip they show has 940 pins: 31x31=961 Corners and 2 pins=3+3+3+4+2+2+2+2=21 961-21=940 Maybe an older chip being shown???

Surprising that the FM1 socket has less pins than AM/, even though it has to carry graphics data. And IIRC, isn't the FM1 socket supposed to be the mobile version, the FT1 being for desktop?
