so Intel is going to increase the transistors (from my i7 980xe based on 32nm released almost 1 and 1/2 years ago) by double? are you sure? based on just the die size decrease is only 31%, how is that possible? double means 100% increase!

Moores law says nothing about performance. Moores law stated that the number of transistors on a die will roughly double every 2 years. I also believe in Gordon Moore's original paper he said every 18 months and it was later amended to 2 years.

Nah... I wouldn't want AMD to dominate. Their execs get lazy and their engineers will get all the blame when things will start to fall. Let them grow, steadily, so that when the two companies will won (or lose in intel's case) about half of the market, each of them can support a falling or rising much better, without the drama or the price fascism. Heck... let ARM also in the game, more competition, more for us.

Maybe we should wait till CPUs are out, if Bulldo crashes Sandys ass we will see what we can expect If Buldo fails Intel continues to dominate, and he will continue pricing their CPUs like they are freaking Opals I really hate Intels prices i miss AMD 64 days :( Buldo kick his ass ...

20% means moores law is failing ( perfomance increase by double every 2 years) and jumping from 32nm to 22nm is a 31% increase in transistor capacity in the same envelope! Plus intel said something about directx 11 direct compute compatability in ivybridge.

loadwick, that example has no relevance, professional cameras and camcorders don't use USB as a transfer interface internally, and this USB is only useful for an operation that occurs not so often. The reason is in the certification. Sure there are controller makers but most of them implemented their own stack and these all need to be compliant so that you won't bump into Compact Flashes that won't work properly in some readers. Once more of them fix their stacks and get compliant you'll see more USB 3.0 products on the market not just readers.
