Best seller my ass. For $10 more you can get a 6850 and for the same price you can get a GTX 460 768MB. Sorry, but no reason to buy this one from the red team. It's the 5830 in disguise. Pony up for the 6850. THAT is your best seller.

The card exists before the weak speculations appeared... I'm saying "all" is not a correct statement. I still have to read your comments. The fact is that there's no fact... AMD never made that press release, just an announcement, and all you link to is a site that links to NH through other sites and NH doesn't link to anything. Damn, that's the best fact proving case I've seen in my life... kid, go to law school and save us all! And what's the worst is that Nordic Hardware released the speculated W as power consumption, not TDP, but somewhere all that got lost in translation and became TDP.

The power draw is at 5850 level from benches I saw and thats over 6850 a bit. >.> So even if its not 150, its certainly higher then the standard set by AMD in the performance range. IMO the price difference with a 6850 is too small atm to make the card a good choice, later when it dropped to 100 bucks its an awesome 5770 replacement but not yet.

And I'll say it again: NO! Officially, there was no information on the TDP, it was all speculated based on what the former Barts has + the two 6-pin pegs. Both of these sources mention only total system power... which is not the same thing as a card power as seen on TPU. For all I know, and it has hapened in the past, some of the numbers were benched a while back on different systems, just a different PSU is needed to achieve that 10W difference they told you about. And NO, they don't rebench every component just so that you get a fair review... they're too lazy. Bottom line what W1zz is doing at TPU, measuring card power draw, is the right way to get proper power usage! Period.

Depends how you compare prices... the cheapest 6850 at ze germans (since they're ahead of the market compared to where I live) is at 130€ and something. The cheapest 6790 is at 113€ and something. The simple answer to your question is not exactly since these cards are matched at price/performance, but I assume the price might also drop since the card has barely launched and after that the value will shift towards 6790 a bit, and this will only give people more options. It's not like you're forced to go with 6790... just buy a 6850 and be done.

Official TDP is 150w. This is a fact, regardless of how many times you state "No". There will be a larger variance in actual power usage due to it being such a highly salvaged part, and both Tom's and AT reported higher power draw than the 6850.
