NV has had too many problems with Bumpgate and Fermi/GF100 that I am loathe to trust them now. IMO AMD/ATI has had a much better track record over the last few years. And the microstuttering is gone, and AMD generally have slightly better gfx quality, and the new video processing effects are cool. I'll take a couple FPS lower for a card that's more reliable, has better video quality, and better graphics after ATT tweaks. oh wait....the 5990 beats nvidia in many tests so performance wise it's kind of a wash.

Why do you guys even wonder why they compare stock AMD vs OCed Nvidia... I read reviews 4 many years but its allways the same green team: ultra charged , SSC , watercooled and rest of shhhiit , but they compare to poor stock coolers and stock clocked ATI/AMD becouse they gotta show how much NV is stronger LOL

If they Compared it to the 6990 OC it would have not looked good so why would they do that? More interesting is WHO will buy this? coonsidering the PRICE and possible problems with OCing it. " Shakes head" you'd have to be nuts.

Nope, these boards are all manufactured directly by nVidia, so I don't think there'll be any customization other than maybe taking the cooler off and adding a waterblock.

I dont understand why they are comparing it with stock? Who is going to buy a HD6990 and NOT flick that little switch? They should be comparing it to the switched version and not stock. I hope Arctic Cool release another Accelero XTREME for the HD6990. The HD5970 version was awesome and cooled my card from 85 load to 45-50 degrees C

Yep Nvidia drivers are way better, so good in fact that they have a unique explosive quality. Great stuff from Nvidia lately. First the GTX 480 then the GTX 590 epic fail, top quality stuff. Anyone with a bit of common sense looking for a top end dual card would by a HD 6990. It doesn't take an AMD fanboy to make that decision. GTX 590 - Hot,Poor performance, Power drain. Explodes HD 6990 - Runs cool, top performance, Power efficient. Its not rocket science to figure out which one is best
