Rest is pretty even and doesnt matter anyway. The thing with other games besides Metro and Crysis (and maxed. BC2 where is probably a driver thing) is that they easy run with max details on 1 6970/580, some even with 4/8x aa, DX11 or not, so I dont see how the numbers from this game matter much.

Benchmarking Crysis 2 is the same as quake because of the DX9 actually :_D Temps and Poweruse seem similar though with a lil plus for the 6990 without OC mode. The problem with PhysX is that it kills the point of a benchmark because its not the same situation with different card, so it makes harder to compare which card is actually really faster. IMO It should be included as extra but "main" bench should be made with even situation. So well...a 590 is the better card for Metro for daily use but in a even benchmark its bit slower. In Crysis its a clear thing for 6990, same as Stalker. BC2 seems much better with a 590 though.

i was refering to crysis 2, obviously crysis 1 is a different beast! the 590 actually runs cooler in reviews ive read, i dont understand why she wants to explode! PS. you have to respect physx when comparing two similar performing cards at similar prices when it is something the competition doesn't offer. and its 2011 and have to base reviews on dx11 "things", same reason we dont benchmark quake 3 anymore....and we all know amd's 3D is a joke at best.

Its probably because they used PhysX and obviously a NV card will beat AMD then, without that crap 6990 got more FPS in Metro. You cant hope that NV will always pay the devs so why counting with specific settings ? AMD got some 3D stuff too and tesselation is a mostly a DX11 thing...(but tesselation units were used on old DX9 AMDs too...) In Crysis 6990 wins... http://www.anandtech.com/show/4239/nvidias-geforce-gtx-590-duking-it-out-for-the-single-card-king/5 http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/03/24/asus_geforce_gtx_590_video_card_review/7 So well, they are pretty similar but 6990 is a tick faster in relevant games and doesnt burn if you oc it :_D

ive checked several reviews and in relevant dx11 titles, the 590 wins! look above you for example....6990 loses in metro at every resolution and AA configuration! and i know from before youve argued the fact that a card winning is only important in metro and crysis...well it wins at every review site in both those games! ha, either way its a close race with advantages for both teams...physx, 3d vision, tesselation...oh wait, those are only for nvidia..sorry..did you even read this review?!

But 6990 rapes 590 in games like Metro and Crysis, the only games that need a card like that to play them with max settings. Difference in Stalker is huge too, I dont think its good playable with a 590 and 8x AA

Check AMD's site-same deal- "Faster than the Worlds Fastest..." schtick. Fact: Neither card is outright faster than the other. For every AMD favourable game (F1 2010, AvP, DAO etc.) you'll also find cases the the opposite is true- Lost Planet 2, BattleForge, HAWX2 etc. Add in the compute benchmarks ( http://www.anandtech.com/show/4239/nvidias-geforce-gtx-590-duking-it-out-for-the-single-card-king/15 and http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1138/pg16/asus-nvidia-geforce-gtx-590-graphics-card-launch-review-gpu-assisted-computing.html ) and add in 3D multi-monitor gaming and things more than even out.
