Electricity is a point, somebody who spends 700 bucks on a card should have problems to pay the power but noise is different if you dont play with a headset. Metro is sure lesser fun with a noisy card, same with almost all other horror or stealth games. Games with more subtile sound too obviously. Most people will probably use the card with water cooling, not only better for the sound but for longlivity too because of lesser temps, without this cards are pretty annoying.

[quote name="123s"]@Allaboutthe$ Not everybody plays "BOOM "BOOOM" "BOOOOM" games and noisy card fails then. What ? What is it your trying to say ? Do you Game ? What gaming do you do and do you have your sound on ? Lets be honest you dont need to have the volume that loud at all in order for you to even notice the Fan noise. Also many of the Test done do not factor in how much noise actually emits from the Case , NOT the Card sitting on the Bench. Unless of course you just have MB sitting on you desk and everything else plugged into it with no case ? Lastly, NO GAMER buys a $700 and cares about Noise or electricity.

FYI: Kepler and Northern Islands which are out in a quarter or two, are skipping a whole generation (32nm) of performance! And going straight for 28nm chips! Expect high end single gpu to be as powerful but way more efficent. I would just wait if you already own something high end that is. The gtx 590 and 6990s are the end/last chips based on 40 nm size, so why would you purchase this when the new chips are around the corner which will cost less @ similar perfomance @ more efficiency?

Also before you say anything, just go and READ his Article and you will understand why he is the BEST. Nvidia or AMD or any other Brand, he ALWAYS tells it like it IS !.
You Dim Wits that dont know how to read without your eyes open are so dumb. Anyone buying the 6990 or 590 will A: not give a crap about POWER use, B: Noise " honestly think about this, Do any of you game with the sound off ? Cuz i certainly DONT,I can't hear my fans or anything else while I game with my 5.1 sound blaring. C: Playing anything at less then 1920X1200 , High quality ,Full Tessellation and 16X anisotropic filtering then you really need get your head checked because you just wasted $700. So with respect to this go and see how the cards were tested and then you can see why the HD6990 is Faster. Not to mention that you can OC the 6990 by just flipping the Switch , the 590? well lets just say you will kill your Card.
