Intel has realized that Netbook cpus will means ZERO revenue. All these chips: Atom ,Brazos are underpowered cpus to sell at 20/30$ max.Very likely Intel has decided to invest more R&D in real cpus and new Gpus to counter Nvidia and Ati in the next years. I don't think Brazos like a win for Amd, at least at the ridicule price Amd sell them :) and this is a surpise, since it is fabbed in TMSC (that wants its own revenue on every chip). Impact of brazos on Amd balance sheet: 0.01% :). Yes Atom is died and other similar cpus too. ARM rule in the next years in UM

Perhaps, but Ontario/Zacate can play just as well in the tablet market as the netbook market. Intel tried too hard to limit the appeal of netbooks in order to prop up thin&light. Now AMD has comprehensively bit Intel on it's ass. AMD: necessity is the mother of innovation.

This is like closing the barn door after the horses have run away. Zacate & Ontario are such that Intel can only compete against them by dropping price. However the prices for Ontario & Zacate product are so low already that most people will spend the extra few dollars for the AMD solution, given it's superiority over Atom. c50 notbooks sell in my neck of the woods for CDN$299, and they can play HD video seamlessly... Intel just cannot touch this.

Its pretty disappointing that after 3 years the atom performance has pretty much gone nowhere, personally i think intel is going to slowly pull out of the netbook industry and dedicate more resources to tablets. just a thought though.
