It's only a buzz, hoohoo... the amount of people that actually depend on this tech is small. The rest are just drawn to something new and daddy's money which buys all and everything without breaking a sweat for it. Until these become more integrated in household appliances and the "markets" will become available, car and home controllers and what not, this is nothing that looks like a battle. We'll have to wait for the real battle to show its ugly head a few more years from now. Obviously, with intel at the spearhead, it will rain s#it on the others, not because intel is good, but the opposite.

I have to smile when I think about RISC and CISC. Who would have thought the real battle would occur 20 years later and not in desktops and servers, but in tiny hand held computers? I certainly never imagined this result!

This is true, they certainly have the money to make these 'smaller' companies bust and they could probably justify the super low prices because of the reasons i said 22nm and low over heads on their FABs.

yeah competition is really good for us Consumer. I just hope that Intel will not do the same thing they did in the past against AMD.

If i were a betting man, then despite what Intel is claiming, I don't think Medfield will challenge ARM in this round of fighting but i think it will start getting very interesting when Intel moves over to 22nm probably 1H 2012. If you believe everyone's roadmaps then nVidia will have something faster than Superman by then (literally!), Qualcomm will be at quad-core 2GHz+ and graphics will be at 10x current consoles! So Intel will have its work cut out but they will also have a very large 'leg up' when it comes to die size at 22nm, not to meansion it being their own FABs. Its now down to whether they can make good use of it or not but more competition can only be a good thing.
