Why does article says that MS is trying to move people from Ie6 to "two year old IE8" when it says nicely on their website that it's IE9 that they want you to install... IE9 that's finally - FINAL! :)

Yo! Editors! You've used the wrong icon for this article - that is the IE7+ icon, the IE6 icon was a bright light blue 'e' with a same bright light blue streak across it. Very unprofessional! :-?

Well, if they really wanted to kill it then they would have to release a service pack 4 for Windows XP and make available for download .iso images of install discs to use with existing XP licenses, which would replace the ie6 that exists on every XP disc every released (not including specially make slipstreamed iso images). Lots of people still use XP, and every new install or reinstall of XP includes ie 6. And by necessity, the MS upgrade site needs to stay compatible with ie 6 in order for all of those new installs to be able to download their initial security patches after a fresh install.

This "kill" thing, is that something American? Or is IE6 a new species of rodent thus justifies the usage of the term "kill". Every were you meet them, they have to "kill" something. It's not sufficient to just "upgrade" or "uninstall", no, you have to kill it.

the point of updating internet browsers is not for "bling bling" it's just to take advantage of new technologies to make internet browsing more captivating and safe, especially in the age of HD (hardware acceleration, HTML5, new SSL encryptions etc etc) it makes things a bit more pleasant and not feel like we're still in 1996, which is what IE6 feels like to me (they're still using it on the university computers)
