Vortex 3 is in the shops here in England and its $360 for the 120GB with current exchange rate. Certainly not crazy money but still too much for my tastes. I think the magic price point will be around £1 per GB or $1.50 per GB.

Impressive. And just when I was still drooling over Intel's new stuff. With speeds like that I don't care if it's 25 or 34nm...

@Memristor If they are the correct prices then i would be quite surprised, but happy and would be the proud owner of a 128GB Vortex 3! At the moment a high-end 128GB drive is about $400-600, why would a drive that is so much better be so much less?

Here are the Vertex 3 suggested retail prices: (source Anantech) 128GB - $249 256GB - $499 Hardly 4 times more than Photofast, how about 25% more. And as we know you can always find a OCZ SSD for 10-25% below retail.

Personally i think one of the best price/performace SSDs i've seen is the Photofast GMonster3-XV2. Read - 500MB/s Write - 450MB/s And the prices are meant to be: 64GB - $110 128GB - $200 256GB - $400 512GB - $800 Out in April. It won't beat the Vortex 3's but it will be a quarter of the price.

'Prices are meant to be not too steep'? I will believe that when i see it! No one brings out a product that destroys the competion and doesn't cash in on it.
