See Nerdmaster's comment. They didn't do anything; they just found out that the R4 still works. Besides, why would someone buy a 3DS for almost twice the price of a DS for DS homebrew?

I love how I got two thumbs down, yet neither person bothered correcting me. lol Anyway, this article was misleading. It wasn't hacked; it was just found that the backwards compatibility allows DS R4 carts to work. So you can make DS homebrew, but not 3DS homebrew. In other words, it's useless.

Dat was fast, hope they can hack psp 2 with the same speed, so i can get one at launch. The possibilities for homebrew are endless with the new handhelds, Nintendo and Sony should start supporting the scene already and not fighting a fight that they cant win and motivate the people to piracy.

If 3ds plays ds titles (it does) then it has to behave as ds hardware. If it behaves as ordinary ds hardware then a simple old ds hack will be enough to unlock its ds capabillities. Those cards are detected like a game and they trick ds to boot. When it does they take the full control. Does 3ds support homebrew applications? If not then those guys at nintedo are idiots. Why prevent people from buying 3ds to program it?
