@Regenweald, Atom couldn't have brought Intel billions if they were sold only in tens of millions unless the chipsets cost in the hundreds of dollars, which they don't. "How do you kill an old product"... simply, by besting it at what it matters. Killing doesn't mean scoring higher profits, it means that OEM's will see a better, cheaper product available and they will reduce the purchasing of Atom until it becomes non-profitable. Wii ruled because it attracted more customers from all age-groups, not just kids and apple fanboys. As to Brazos being late, I disagree. The problem with running all of these mini-pc's is software. Now that this part of the equation is resolved, better hardware is just what most of us want.

The most clueless review I've read in a while. In addition to the problem of PSU mentioned by other commenters, VGA is a must for an HTPC motherboard, because there are many with older TVs, projectors or monitors. This is especially true for a "budget" one like the AsRock. There are also settings below "high", which allow some games to run just fine with low performance CPU + GPU combos. Additionally, whole genres like turn based strategy are quite playable even at below 30 FPS.

You're not a real PC gamer then. You seem to have the impression all PC gamers are willing to fork out for $600+ GPU and $300+ CPUs every generation. I don't need to have all the bells and whistles at high to enjoy a PC game.

But guys, that's my point, Atom has been shipping since 2008 and sold in the tens of millions. Brazos has shipped one million. How do you kill an old product that has already netted a company billions in a market that they were alone ? It's like saying that the xbox 360 is killing the Wii because it's just now beginning to sell better, meanwhile the Wii ruled gaming for like what, 3-4 years ? I'm not saying that brazos is not great, but is also very late. Lets see if AMD can actually deliver the product in volume.
