I'm impressed it can nearly match an Intel Core 2 Duo chip in terms of processing power yet use only a thousandth of its power. With Microsoft engineering Windows 8 for ARM architecture chips use also (which includes the Tegra) Nvidia really could make a push into the PC market.... Interesting years ahead :)

@pogsnet - incorrect if the OS is Linux or *BSD. These OS's and the software that runs on them are extremely portable. Thus the wonderful people who are enlightened by the One True Operating System will continue to live in a world of beauty and soft colors. People enslaved by the Beast of Redmond will have a problem, and they will continue to live in a harsh world, where cooperation is discouraged, and everything is colored either black or red.

Look carefully at the Coremark 1.0 chart! GCC 3.4.4 with -O2 enabled for the Intel CPU. VS GCC 4.4.1 with -O3 enabled for Nvidia ARM CPUs. Translation? Nvidia intentionally used an older version of GCC and less aggressive optimization option for the comparison Intel CPU to look good!

Here is hoping that manufacturers pair the chipset with equally rated memory and components. It may turn up to be a fast performer but if memory bandwidth keeps it down it won't matter. Phones with at least 1GB of dedicated memory (not talking about storage here) is what we need. No more hiccups please.

Yes it may have the horse power to do those things but it is not yet supported by 99% of all x86/x64 softwares out there and that may take 5 years or more for most software to migrate if they intend to migrate. Anyways AMD and Intel processors are getting hyper multi threading per cores and going to more power efficient arena too. Whatever point of view ARM is still left behind to compete x86 processors if they intend to win with muscles.
