Youre right, it lacks THE feature and I guess they´ll take the second place again just the gap will be closer. After all it can do all the things, previous PSP, PS 1-3 and even DS did. As for rear touchpad, first i was like wtf but then thinking about it made me realize how awesome it is. As long they dont overuse it the whole time, where you have to concentrate on it. It should work intuitive for things like opening doors, combos, slicing things up, etc, etc. In the more boring scenario, you can just use it as L3/R3.

Nintendo made minimal changes because they beat the PSP 2:1. Sony needs to appeal to a larger audience if they don't want to settle for second place. Also, I really don't see that touchpad getting much use beyond substitute buttons and puzzle games. It's not going to be enough to close the gap. It needs a big unique feature to define itself, imo.

Aww, E3 is so far away and its not even release :( From the look of it, its gonna be a poket PS3 with rear touch screen...but i think its what the most people who bought the last one want, including me. This time they even made bigger changes then Nintendo, who sell practically the same handheld with 3D effect and better graphic.

They said that they don't want to sell it at a loss at all. I guess we'll see at E3. Though, since I won't be buying it until it proves to be more than a "pocket PS3," I guess I shouldn't be talking. No amount of money is worth it if I'm just getting games that would be better on a PS3. I'd hope that Sony wouldn't make the same mistake twice, but that's where they're headed so far...

Wouldnt it simply work if its on the back of the main unit o.o Maybe they dont wonna do it now because of the negative Go reputation or smth. But bigger battery = more weigh and huge n heavy isnt exactly what i understand under "portable"

I don't think they'll make it any smaller if it needs to have dual touchscreens, I'd assume that it'd be hard to try and fit a touchscreen behind a sliding mechanism. Then again, I'm no engineer. Plus, that size means that there should be a pretty large battery inside, so if they later switch to 28nm, they can keep the form factor and use the saved space for more battery :D

I dont think the price is that high anyway, an iPhone with high end hardware at that time, was around 200-250 $ to build. There is no way the psp2 is more then 350 and selling it at "small" loss wont kill sony. 350$ sounds ok too, if its something like value pack again. ps: 5 symbols left and too long comment...wtf

Last DS sold pretty well and the tech isnt total cheap now, so rising price makes sense here, though i think its too much for it but i never been fan of the DS anyway, as long the 3D hype works, they shouldnt have any probs. On the other side, the tech of the psp2 wont help to sell it much, casuals dont give a damn about a quad core and it doesnt have any special features. Biggest sell point seems the "power of ps3 in your pocket." and people owning a ps3 already will think twice before getting an other ps3, with same games just smaller. Rising the price too high is suicide for it.

The DS started at $150. By your logic, why is the 3DS $250? I'm positive that this price is pure speculation and that it'll be $350, especially since Sony doesn't want to sell at a gigantic loss this time around. Besides that, selling it at $300 would just force the 3DS's price down to $200 (since Nintendo NEVER sells at a loss), so it's the same situation either way.

Actually the current PSP is pretty much spammed with 2d jrpgs >.> I hope isometric games like Killzone Liberation dont disappear, it was pretty good playable with the limited controls.
