I totally agree with you there aren't any major changes like it was in WinXP transition from SP1 to SP2 besides if you installed all updates upgrade will take even less time and bandwidth

This is Windows 7, not XP. Reinstalling when there isn't an issue that requires it = HUGE waste of time. If anything, the need to re-cache and index everything again will slow you down more than it will speed you up. Anyway, I'm eagerly awaiting this. I'm installing it day one.

there is only 7 updates for SP1 on windows update right now, and over 100 for each platform available unofficially, with more LDR and GDR patches appearing all the time. There were LDR patches released today that cover a TDR freeze issue in D3D, a patch to fix the TCP chimney offload setting, so it doesn't break when changing adapter properties, and another patch i doubt anyone would care for, "ASN1 out of memory" errors Fase, yes it does.

Can't be true that it "will feature all prior updates and fixes" since there were a few months of fixes since the SP got frozen. Which makes me wonder: is there an official cut-off date so I can manually select the additional post-SP1 KB fixes from Microsoft? Right now, to go through the hundreds of KB listings in the readme and sort these out is too much.
