I'm playing at 5760x1080 on my AMD based system with Radeon 5970. That tool actually thinks I am CPU bound in my games? I have no problem admitting Intel has a stronger performing chip, but as I am not CPU Video Transcoding or crunching excel spreadsheets, a Core i7 would do nothing but waste $

I read the reason for the change of the release order was due to Global Foundries encountering a delay in ramping the 32nm process. Originally, Llano was suppose to come before Brazos, but things got shuffled around now. Brazos had the "advantage" of being built with the older 40nm process, so avoided any additional delay.

See the thing, while there may be 16 integer cores, there will be only 8 fp cores. Interlagos will be an 8 module processor, and that's what the average user should take as cores, while the two core module should be seen as we see intel's hyperthreaded core, virtually. So from our stance, an 4 module Orochi should end up quite good.

A very important corection to the article regarding the stated 50% performance increase. Quote from the AMD Bulldozer blog: "Performance: We release benchmarks at launch, so don’t expect too much detail there anytime soon. From a performance standpoint, if you compare our 16-core Interlagos to our current 12-core AMD Opteron™ 6100 Series processors (code named “Magny Cours”) we estimate that customers will see up to 50% more performance from 33% more cores. This means we expect the per core performance to go in the right direction — up. That is all I will say until launch." http://blogs.amd.com/work/2010/08/02/what-is-bulldozer/

I'm still waiting for some leaked benches and i'm fairly optimistic they will come close to Sandy Bridge, i mean they better be. The thing that concerns me is their implementation of Turbo, hopefully they won't do it Intel style, preventing any sort of OCing on lower priced parts, which is at the moment my beef with Intel's latest and greatest CPUs.

Intel fanboys lol. If I wanted I could buy 10 intels but who cares. I've always prefered AMD. People who can't afford intel give me a break! I bet your using your overpriced intel CPU on a crap TN 1080 panel right now typing your rants. Try 2560 x 1600 with 2 5970s that are made by who (AMD) end even own the current Nvidia 580. Who cares that I dont get 10 more frames per second in my games. My quad at 4ghz does me fine and by who oh the priced right competitor. Get lost!
