Adrian - are you extremely naive (forgivable, we all have a starting point) or some kind of troll!? The US government has been giving (and is *still* giving) Egypt over ONE BILLION (US) DOLLARS of aid EVERY YEAR ... oh, and just in case you were thinking this is humanitarian or education aid I should tell you - IT'S MILITARY AID AND EQUIPMENT! So they were directly supporting the government and not ordinary Egyptians.

I dont think they supported Mubarak, they kept normal relations to a country, they cannot neglect an entire country because of a single man ,it was not a totalitarian regim as it is in Iran ,at least not until now . And who should they support....the Islamic brotherhood.....a bunch of extremist retards ,hopefully this state in which egypt will turn in favor of the people and not thous hwo use religion in order to kill others .

My friend, they did not just stand idly by for the past three decades, they supported Mubarak, directly and indirectly. This is a fact. That's why I believe they "owe" quite a bit to the Egyptian people.

Why would they do such a thing ,do they owe anything to the egyptian people ,do they have such a great society that now have nothing bether to do than to care about others . Beside all of the above ,no country has the right to interfer with another country's policy ,when it comes to a revolution they have to sustain their position so that people like Peter Scott don't come out an say shiet like this "Although most western powers are still silently backing the Mubarak regime"

Well, what have the US and EU been doing for the past 30 years? If they exerted more pressure on Egypt to reform, we would be booking all-inclusive holidays on the Sinai rather than looking at dead kids in the streets. It's too late now, let's just hope they manage to form a proper democratic government, before nationalist/religious nuts hijack the movement.

How can you sustain such a stupid staitement ,bouth US and EU demand the Egyptian regim that it should listen to the public opinion and organize free elections. What do you expect them to do more ,to threaten them,to invade Egypt and "free" the people . The Egyptian president shuld end the same way as the Romanian did 1989 (and should happen to the curent President).........by execution ,he allredy has the blode of to many people on his hands .
