and you forget that the 2000 and 3000 series cards were fails, architecturally . not to mention the 2000 series was late... real late. Fermi took 9 months after ATi, and reviewers and consumers can't get enough of them, the two i mentioned, took YEARS! [censored] you're dumb. how about the shit 6800 series ATi released that were nothing more than scraps used to create revenue. oh yea, and enjoy your 6700 series rebrands. but thats not the first time ATi rebranded their shiit.

wtf? tired of spelling shit out for you guys. The Radeon 9000 series was the last time they had a lead over nVIDIA (9600, 9700, and 9800 specifically). How you brought up the 5000 series after that is funny, but typical here. Go look at the 25 year history of ATi graphics on Toms site. sheesh. you're dumber than the [censored]s comparing X86 (AMD and Intel) with non x86 (ARM).

What? The 9000 series smoked the geforce 4 and 5, I think that was really about the only time they had the performance crown. nVidia took it back with the 6000 series and has had it most of the time ever since. (single gpu anyways)

@NateMo1980 better thermals? still riding this derailed train? have you even seen the thermals compared to the 570/580 to what AMD has? obviously not. so you dont care about 5-10% performance hit, but now you're crying about 5-10% difference in power consumption and temps? Consumer fail. http://www.techspot.com/review/348-amd-radeon-6970/page12.html morons here i swear.

i'm somewhat amazed this got rated up. its true no doubt, just didnt expect this from DammitFanboysLi veHereZilla. when ATi got to 40nm first with the 4770 it was a fail card (sales and performance), so you would think their real move to 40nm with Evergreen would be easier. Not true, and cards were hard to find. and alas, nVIDIA was using the 40nm process to release their 300 series, where yields were not an issue. ATi/AMD was first, but thats not much to brag about.
