Again, the point still stands. I believe I stated that piracy was a major component of the PC's downfall as a gaming system. it doesn't matter that Valve prioritizes the PC versions, what matters is they're not a PC specific developer anymore. Neither are Epic, Relic, Crytek, id, ect.

@The_Countess You assumed? So you made it up then? Did I say AM-DUNG was going to fail? You need to crawl back! Its the dung beetles who were afraid of what may happen to AM-DUNG. You don't need to be enlightened, you need a reality check! AM-DUNG is broke, their stock price tanked, they've just released a $h!tty series of cards, and they've fired their CEO! They're not scared, they're TERRORFIED!! On the other side, Nvidia b!tched slapped Intel in the new deal, b!tched slapped AM-DUNG with the fastest cards in history, released Terga 2, received over 200 design wins and awards, stock prices soared, and got 1.5 billion for the effort!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! :D

Valve still prioritizes the PC versions over console versions. (Though I bet that you'll disagree.) BF3 might focus more on PCs, too. Also, sales are lower because no one actually buys computer software anymore...

People have been speaking the doom of PC gaming for awhile now (3 years now I think?) Yet I see strong digital sales and strong representation of the platform in my city (PC cafes and new shops) and at conventions like PAX. I know I handled more keyboard+mice then gamepads when I was there lol. And developing top of the line, $500+ GPUs has always been the small market. Mid range cards are where the sales and numbers are at. More and more people are just realizing that hey, you don't need a hex-core, $600 GPU to enjoy a PC game.

The point still stands. The sales are have dropped (even counting digital), the number of big releases is very low. The few big releases there are, they're console ports. Outside of Blizzard, no major studio is developing PC exclusives. If Microsoft would permit WoW on XB360 that number would be zero. Furthermore, the entire desktop market is giving way to notebooks. Even without PC games downfall, developing big GPUs for desktops itself is a slowly shrinking market.

The GTX 580 has been proven to deliver overall smoother FPS then the 5970. You can have all the speed you want, but it's useless if it isn't handled well. And not to mention the 580 is cheaper by ~$100.

Sorry, I mostly meant the last sentence and your overall point. You haven't given evidence that the market is dying at all; you just stated why you feel that PC gaming isn't as good as it used to be.
