I'm running Win 7 with no AV for a year now, once a month I do scans with online versions of ESET AV, Kaspersky etc. Nothing so far. But on the firewall part, it's a must! The amount of intrusions is worrying... there are a lot of unsafe networks out there, including mine. There's no way around it other than pulling out the tcp cord.

I can't help but feel that the people running this test don't understand how computers work. I guess they also put somebody with a cold into the room with the computers for an hour to see if it could be transferred to them. I can't say I've had a problem with viruses for years (In fact, since I upgraded from XP to Vista / Windows 7). Probably helps that I don't download random EXE's and keygens.
