Peope comparing x86 with ARM is just wrong... ARM is nice and all for portable but it's not the powerhouse most of us need. I would find myself using a portable ARM device to remotely control an x86 server or workstation than letting the device do all the work. The way I see the future or this industry.

@robert, there was the problem a while back in which Intel would've refused to extend AMD's x86 license, which would've expired in 2009 or 2010. That problem was even put down by Obama because it would've negatively impacted the US economy, especially in such times. So be sure Intel doesn't want to give their license to anyone especially to nvidia, with which they've had dealings a while back. nvidia was to get licenses to make Nehalem chipsets in exchange for Intel getting SLI singed BIOSes so there would be no need for the NF200 chip... Intel got the BIOS signatures, nvidia got screwed.

To my knowledge NVIDIA has not applied for an x86 license and if they did Intel could not refuse them unless Intel wants another problem fighting that battle in the European Union. Intel was a bit too slow to respond to the mobile phone chip market demand and in that genre ARM will be number 1. It all depends on how much Intel is willing to invest in that niche market

I'm sorry Fudo, But Nvidia super strong man needs a reality check. x86 has been around for some time. My Caltech Alumni, Moore the father of the x86 architecture has been around longer than Nvidia's mere existence. x86 isn't going anywhere. Seriously man. This is guy is full of it.

I've been listening to Jensen's annoyances for too long now. The guy can't get over his hate for x86. Not that their ARM processors haven't slowly made progress over the years and have had some breakthroughs, but he should really shut his mouth and just let sales figures and trends do the talking. People trash talk about how they have something and how others have nothing, not how they think it's gonna be that way in the future - that's just weakness. If you want to advertise how you're better, fine, that's just competition, compare and brag about specs, but quit making outrageous claims about ubiquitous brands and technologies suddenly dying just because you said so.
