I really want a smartfone, but why can't they make one that works on 3g in Europe and US on both AT&T and T-Mobile?? Only Nokia's latest N8, C7 etc. offer 5 band 3g and can do this trick. Unfortunately one can hardly get any clever value added apps for Symbian ^3 like for Android or iOS. Of course many of those apps for these are totally pointless, but some are real clever. Getting Symbian - might as well get a crippled feature fone that offers no option to install 3rd party apps at all. Spend 500 Euro for a snazzy Samsung Galaxy S and be stuck in GPRS when traveling in US? Or spend 500 Euro and 800 USD to get 2 - each for North America and for the rest of the civilised world? Not very smart!

What is this Nokia hate here? You rather buy Korean or Chinese phones than Finnish? Nokia is still and well much into the future number one low- and middle end class phone supplier and is the biggest phone maker. Just because Nokia currently doesn't do well in ultra-high end class it doesn't mean that Nokia couldn't kick ass in all other categories. If Nokia sucks so bad why is it still most popular brand? So f*ck you Fudzilla.

it shows the height of arrogance of this particular editor to just cast aside the combined effort of all the people in nokia and relegate them to the "you suck" team. or this is just a good troll article. ;)

Actually, they have, sort of. From Reuters: "Nokia's next smartphone, the N8, will be the last N-series phone running Symbian software." http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSLDE65N14720100624 Also, have a look at the rumored N9. http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n9-3398.php

Nokia used to have great build quality, but things have changed in the past couple of years, especially in mid range phones. High end stuff is still pretty solid. Nokia used to have the best smartphone OS two-three years ago, but now it's falling behind big time. Here is why I stopped using it - the last one i bought was pants. Build quality was poor, the batter cover rattled until i stuck a piece of paper in it. The black finish on metallic bezel started coming off after just a couple of months. Less than half a year later I returned it to the shop after they had tried to fix it three times - power issue... A few months earlier my brother got another nokia, E-series I think. A year later it just died. Back in the day you could beat someone to death with a Nokia and then call the police...

Number 1 - iPhone 4. After all these years the iPhone and iOS are still the best phone/operating system of the market. It's too bad they're tied to AT&T's crappy network. Number 2 - Nexus One. The best implementation of Android is the one that doesn't add unnecessary UI 'enhancements'. Google's phones are the best way to run Android, it's too bad other manufacturers can't follow suit. Number 3 - HTC Evo 4G. It's technically not 4G, but it's definitely better than 3G. Also, 4.3" display. Honorable mention - Droid X. 4.3" display, generous 8GB of internal storage plus stock 16GB microSD, 1GHz OMAP3. This on the best 3G network in the United States. Worst phone? The Blackberry Torch was definitely the most disappointing.
