I could go into a bit more detail but I'm tired... short, the rich of today practiced some "communism" to get where they are, we just don't see it clearly. That means, that wealth actually belongs to all of use that worked to achieve it.

@loadwick, OK...the thing is that billionaires don't work that hard. The only reason these people exist is because of preferential selection. I'm not talking about communism... and I know, I've been part of a communist country for some time and it still feels like that but without the little benefits it had pre-Ceaucescu's removal. Communism is in large about a party, in this case a dictator, that forces everybody to the same living standards. Believe it or not... others weren't forced but preferred and lived expensive. Same thing goes on today in the so called capitalism where there are some hard working and smart execs that don't see much reward where as snotty bosses, which had as luck some preferential treatment, a rich uncle, an inheritance, live off them and their work.

The thing is though , all consoles only have to wait for the gpu to complete , and the coding is fairly simple , because what they do , is leave the main ui behind , and stop calculating anything on that , and focus on the game , its pointless to compare it to a Desktop PC , because , in a desktop , the background processes are running , not halted .

Holy shit US National Research Council, been hiding under a rock or what? This is such old and obvious news I don't even know why they bothered with it. Everyone in the industry knows we are reaching the end with current manufacturing techniques and materials. "It needs a yet-to-be-invented transistor architecture to save it." Yet to be invented? Uhh... They need to pay better attention to the industry news. It's already been invented. It's called graphene transistors and carbon-nanotube interconnects. There are already working prototypes for [censored]s sake.

One thing that might work, but again you need the whole world to agree, but have a limit on how much one person can be worth. This way you still have people working hard to be richer but they can’t get stupidly rich. Set the limit at maybe £50m, enough for most people I would say. Then anymore profits after that have to be reinvested.

@Bl0bb3r Perfect communism sounds great but it would never work in reality, humans are just too lazy. Money is the only thing that gets 99% of people out of bed in the morning. Personally i know if i got paid the same amount whether I worked hard or hardly worked I know which I would choose! Most countries operate on a form of communism, TAX. The more you earn the more you pay. The problem with this is you need the whole world to operate at the same TAX rates for it to work otherwise you just have the rich moving abroad to a TAX haven.

@thetruth, no one forced you to... and I don't dispute that, unfortunately most of them won't give up on their money to something useful nor will their inheritors. So did you actually state a point here or was it just hot air? Oh, nothing-sayers... how I like them, NOT! @hoohoo, the economy doesn't work!... based on how things go in the real world, except your head. Seems to me you can add ignorance besides naivety to your own resume. Or who knows, maybe you're one of those rich spoiled kids that has nothing better to do than troll forums! Simply put, the richer are getting rich and the poorer poor... while governments get into billions of debt to compensate for the greed of those individuals.

@Hoohoo, I think that is what IBM was trying to allude to, they are working towards integrating CELL arch and their RISC CPUs into a single piece of silicon, namely the PowerPC 8 CPU. The PowerXCell 8i processor, used in the current blades, is a massive step up from the Cell chip in the PS3 and there is no reason why there will not be further improvements in this tech before 2013, couple that with IBM’s already very powerful CPUs and we are in for a very juicy chip indeed probably 8 cores running in the 6GHz region. Intel’s Haswell spec will read very similar but Intel are insistent that x86 is the be all and end all of chip arch, which I think will be their undoing. AMD’s approach seems to be the most logical, using tailor made APUs for each job.
