I think people are slowly getting tired of this never ending idiotic rants like "Apple sucks! No, M$ sucks! BS, it's AMD that sux! Anyone knows that NVidia is s*it!". I think some people mistake technology with religion. They feel like they must preach on forums and blogs what others should believe in. Come on, this are PRODUCTS! And we all techno-geeks love to be tempted by various, good products...:)

Heh real news would be that Apple is not preparing a quarterly refresh. Where are all the flame artists when I need them?

Reduce the nativity level a bit, you're getting embarrassing! That is a misquote from an Intel press release in which it was not stated clearly if OpenCL is supported by the GPU. It was just thrown there for the sake of it... and it's not for the Intel GPU! http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-opencl-sdk/ To clear things up, the Release Notes and User Guide pdfs of their own OpenCL 1.1 implementation state: The Alpha version of the SDK supports the CPU device only and is intended for 32-bit applications only.

You are wrong. Sandy Bridge GPU is OpenCL 1.1 compliant and has 6/12 execution units. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMA_HD#HD_Graphics_.28GMA_HD.29

I really hope Apple pushes the Macbook Pro harder this time around. There is now little technical difference between the Macbook and the MBP other than bigger/faster where applicable and a much better chassis. The 17" MBP also could use a quad-core option, but I don't think this will happen.

Sandy's GPU is not OpenCL compliant. OpenCL will run instead on the CPU... or on the dedicated AMD graphics. And there is no mention about Apple moving away from AMD, but a troll like you wouldn't know anything better than trash talk.

I assume Apple is moving away from Nvidia and AMD - to Intel. The GPU of Sandy Bridge should be sufficient for most applications. Plus it supports OpenCL (very important for Apple).
