i think after the new driver they just released, maybe radeon will be faster. Surely they would make sure it faster on launch day so they can claim it. Just a thought.........

Its insane to test a 6970 at settings below 1080p...its not a card directed at a user who uses 1600x 900 reso or 720p...y don u try custom resolution like 2560x 1600 and above...

Given that AMD/ATI can't even fix a simple cursor bug, choosing instead to fix the UI for CCC, there's little reason to give them the benefit of the doubt. After getting burned on 5xxx, I'll be waiting until 28nm to see if Nvidia comes out with something worth buying, the red team needs to redeem itself before I'd even consider them.

I take that part of your company's policy is to get hit with a nice lawsuit then? I'd be careful about stating publicly that you got pre-release HW which you were not supposed to have. Cheers.

I must say, until this article, I seriously thought that Warrior24_7 was an outrageously obvious troll. But while he still is name calling on AMD, he has seriously toned it down, and I am honestly taking his posts seriously, rather than reading them to get a laugh out of it. Theres one reason why I am interested in the 69XX series, and that is for threes monitors. Currently I have a GTX 260 that can't run them unless I get another, and I don't have a SLI board so eyefinity is right for me. Hell, even my brother has a fermi, GTX 470. Also why are people so augmentative over this. if the GFX card has the right feature set for you and the right price then purchase it, if you want the best performance purchase that. AMD/NVidia welcomed here :D

I'm don't believe $h!t until the card is released and its benchmarked in "games"! SLI is better than CFX anyway. I never understood why people give this type of benchmark credibility. Its not "real world gaming performance"! So who cares?!! The bottom line is that the 580 is faster than the 6970.

I would not call it hands down nor would I call it a year old if they only win it in numbers? By numbers I mean dimensions. GFwhateveritsnu mberis is a really big chip and barely manages to outperform AMD's offerings.

I suppose this shows the fermi architecture is actally really good if a year old arch can beat AMDs new design hands down, wish I had jumped on the 580 chip now but I thought I would get a 6870 and wait for 28nm. I was soooo close to one aswel had it on pre-order
