I believe that this site has added the comments section in order to gain more views. Think about it, all their "news" are wraped in some sort of controversy just right for a fanboy war. I guess i like tabloids.... My regards to Fuad&company.

neh, it means you are an idiot if 860mhz was reported a few weeks ago, then we got info of a few weeks delay, and now the reports indicate a clock of 880mhz, AMD obviously used the few weeks extra to increase the clock to make sure the card competes well with the competition

The card runs at 880MHz and the card has the memory that runs at quite impressive 5.5GBps. The memory of choice is GDDR5 in 256-bit flavour and the card has 2GB of it. So faster memory on that same slow ass 256-bit bus? You almost have to overclock the core to even things out. 2GB does almost nothing for anyone playing at 1680x1050 4xAA. Crossfire maybe. Assumming the card can run the game with playable framerate at that res and detail.

It means it runs at 860MHz (if the reporter is correct... it might run at some other frequency, it certainly runs at *some* frequency). None of this matters very much though: the real profits for AMD and nVidia are not at the top end $500+ market segment - the profits are in the midrange. AMD AFAICT has a strong line up in the mid range and nVidia less so (I may be mistaken). Which company is better positioned to sell to the 'normal*' market? It looks like AMD to me. *Windows, non-enthusiast/gamer market.

anyway i think the fudzilla test will make sure the gtx580 is faster. the computerbase performancerati ng will then show that hd6970 beats gtx580 in most if not all resolutions and settings
