The supply of GTX470 & GTX480 was quite small at launch and did not improve greatly afterward. To some degree that accounted for the cards selling out.

My overclocked EVGA GTX 470 has been able to play anything I throw at it without issues. With some basic mods the card runs warm (around 80C) with 80% fan at load. When under load I can barely hear the card running over my Antec 902 case fans. Because the card is fairly new, I will have the option of using EVGA's Step-Up program to move up to the GTX 570. I'm pretty sure the card will retail (US) around $350.00, and it will cost me about $90.00 to Step-Up. Whether I step-up, or not, will depend on how it performs. If it can perform on par with the GTX 480, and heat and noise is better, it will be a no brainer for me to upgrade.

There will be two Caymans. Which one do you mean? If both are faster, then Nvidia is in deep trouble. Personally I expect things to be like 6870=560 < 6950 < 570 < 6970 < 580 < 6990
